Pet Advice for Condo Owners

The number of condo owners has skyrocketed, so has the number of pets making their homes in the sky. When it was once forbidden to have pets inside a condominium, nowadays, developers are including pet-friendly spaces in their designs. With great consideration to the size, kind and number of animals, condominiums now have pet regulations in their own policies.

Including and promoting pet services with the offerings of rooftop dog runs and in-house doggie spas with showers, to outdoor pet parks complete with fake tree stumps make a huge advantage for condominium owners, according to The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences, expert in matchmaking expatriates to luxury apartments in Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is good news to all pet lovers but there are still a set of regulations and safety precautions for them to consider and follow:

1. Train them early

Pets are like children. That means that they can also create a lot of ruckus and misbehave so you can expect a slightly chaotic living. It becomes worse in a condo since you have neighbors and regulations to follow. To avoid complaints, make sure to train them early. Like children, they can be obedient if proper training is implemented.

2. Ensure safety

Kids are not the only ones who need safety precautions. Depending on the layout of your space, there may be additional hazards which can harm your pets. And pets, considering they don’t have human comprehension to understand the warning signs, are exposed to more risk. Make sure there are no open outlets, electrical wires and cords lying around and rubber protectors for tables, chairs and railings.

3. Keep away from easy-stained items

From floor to ceiling, make sure you don’t have any items, furniture, appliances and other property that can be easily scratched, stained, torn or bitten. The wooly carpets should be changed, the floors should be laminated and the walls should be painted with sturdy paints.

4. Close shelves and cabinets

Cats are good climbers; dogs just seem to have access to anything. Although they don’t seem to think much, pets are witty and unpredictable. They can cause drastic accidents and damage if let alone. Locks are good thing to invest on or you might as well train them properly to stay away from hazardous things.

5. Don’t Forget to take them out for a walk

Although pets are now fit to condo living, make sure you also get a life for them by taking them out for a walk or a stroll. They need as much freedom as humans do and always let them feel they are loved. Pets can be more loyal than other people.

What to Do with an Empty Wall

I am pretty sure each of us has stared at our walls one time or another for hours. There just seems to be a certain pull walls have when we are deep in thought or when we are contemplating. This is probably why the phrase “staring at an empty wall” has been popularized. But wouldn’t it be better if the walls we are staring at least have some substance on it?

Seriously though, we all know the struggle of designing our walls, especially when you are renting. Much more when with already furnished homes, it gets harder to think of designs which can complement the rest of the furniture and accessories.

Well, rest easy, there are already unique ways to decorate your walls without endangering the designs which your room originally has. The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences, expert in providing luxury homes for expatriates in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jakarta, Indonesia and Hong Kong, has brought together different ideas for achieving good wall designs without the need of stereotype wallpaper which can sometimes damage your walls:

1. Use mirrors

Mirrors will forever be a part of interior design of every genre. This is why it would have different sizes, width and length as well and would always be a good option to put up on a barren wall. It may not be that unique compared to other designs, yet, with the proper review and choice of layout and placement, it can make a big difference in a quiet room.

2. Post Its

This one is not advisable for people who do not like that much clutter on their walls. But if you are someone who likes to be reminded constantly, post its walls can be both creative and beneficial at the same time. You can also post a thoughtful quote each day and arrange them closely to each other, organize them by color or with a pattern depending on your taste.

3. Wall Stickers

Wall stickers are becoming more and more popular and trendy especially to young adults who are living alone. It has a lot of designs to choose from and is thin enough that it can look like a part of the wall itself. You can also change it since it is easily detachable.

4. Recyclable materials

Instead of complaining on the clutters, why not put it into good use? Maps that have accumulated as part of homeworks in elementary or unused CDs can be of good use to shimmer your walls.

Fences and Gates

If you are living in a condominium, you wouldn’t need to think about building fences for your property. But since you can’t live in a cramped condominium with uncertain life span in front of you, you have to think fast on how and what kind of fence you will be making. Yes, there are actually different kinds of fences and gates, far from other people know.

The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residence, expert in finding the best and most suitable home for our valued expatriates in Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, has uncovered different fences which speak both artistry and functionality.

1. Brick Walls
Bricks have been around ever since people the medieval times and things have been good for them ever since. We have used it for homes and fences and while we are at it, we have even used bricks for walls and ovens. These are not the only things heeded by bricks. It seems like until now, bricks are still familiar for both protection and visual.

2. Wrought Iron
Irons are known to be the most popular item to be used as a gate or a fence. There are currently a wide variety of wrought irons specifically for this purpose. The most popular is the black iron used to produce a chic concept and impression.

3. Round walls
Round walls are sometimes used in gardens but it can also be applied to achieve secure yet rustic impression of your home. Some even incorporate moon gates, a circular opening mostly used in Chinese gardens but has now became very popular in luxury homes. According to tradition, the moon gate enables good vibes and fortune to enter the dwelling place and it is also a good luck for couples to walk through it together.

4. Low Slung Fences
Low slung fences are featured with a square post at corners. This design is mostly used for elevated homes. It is also used if you are growing shrubs near your gate but not that effective against fraudsters. The traditional version is the picket fence.

5. Natural Wood Fence
Much to eastern taste, natural wood fences bring out light when reflected with the green grass. It is much better to create a lattice style upper deck. It also brings out warm feeling because of the use of wood. It may also be used to protect privacy without sacrificing design. This way, you are more secure against complaints from neighbors when you are out partying at night and it also prevents you on being the center of gossip.

Increasing Expat Population Drives Posh Condo Market to Soar

The potential of Asian countries have grown from mediocre to an alarming threat to oust already developed countries such as the United States and United Kingdom from their economic leading positions. The culture and the rich variety of resources also contribute to the growing investments in the each country.

The continent already has its own list of developed countries including Singapore, South Korea, Japan, China and United Arab Emirates (UAE) among others. These countries have been leading the world with unique characteristics and assisting western developed countries in fulfilling global causes and implementing international projects.

If Asian countries send their people to seek opportunities in the western part of the world, a lot of expatriates also reside in Asia, either building and developing their own business or working in Asian companies.

The rise of foreign firms opening in Asia and the increasing number of their population also increases the demand for luxury homes which can cater to their needs. The industry is also the shining beacon of economy for the higher end market.

Being able to live or work in areas where there are posh condominium give one an air of elegance and sophistication. It is an accepted fact that urbanization and development paves way for industrialization and modernity.

Singapore is an example. The city-island country has been recognized as one of the most developed countries in the world. With millions of expatriates living within its walls, condominium units are easily occupied even before it can be completely constructed. Pre-selling of apartments is rampant with developers piling public offices for building permits.

According to the review conducted by the Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residences, specializing luxury home rentals for expatriates for Singapore, the market has increased by 10 – 12% since last year. Similar demands are experienced in Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan as well as in developing cities, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Jakarta, Indonesia.

The cheap price of luxury homes compared to that of developed countries also accounts to the growing attraction of foreigners to Asian extravagant housings. Cities also promise expansion, enabling developers to increase the average size of condominiums, making them more appealing to expatriates. The number of large-residential housing around the prime cities is rising.

However, this growth and obvious boost to the economic sector and the strengthening of international ties is not without complaints. May humanitarian and environmental organizations are calling the unending urbanization exploitation of nature and impractical use of resources. Yet, the industry doesn’t seem to have any plans of stopping.
